Job summary

First Command Financial Services seeks an Enterprise Data Steward to lead data governance, ensure data quality, and guide data usage across enterprise applications. You will drive policy, catalog development, and remediation with business units, ensuring data remains accurate, accessible, and aligned with strategic goals.

You will lead a team of Data Stewards, establish lineage and workflows, and collaborate with IT and business partners to enforce standards and improve data stewardship maturity.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years in data governance or equivalent roles.
• Experience mentoring and leading small teams.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL concepts.
• Proficient in data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
• Experience documenting data mapping and data lineage.
• Familiar with data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Purview, Talend, Aperture.
• Experience with Agile frameworks (SAFe, Kanban, Scrum) is a plus.
• Industry experience in financial services or highly regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead data governance policies and monitor adherence.
• Define data catalog best practices and shape the data catalog.
• Report on enterprise data quality scores and escalate issues.
• Manage Data Steward work and domain assignments.
• Define assets, meanings, lineage, and workflows for data stewardship.
• Ensure new systems comply with data management practices.
• Create data quality rules considering data criticality and usage.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues, driving remediation with stakeholders.
• Develop methods to enforce data quality at entry points.
