Job summary

American Century Investments invites rising seniors to join a 10-week summer data internship. You will work alongside IT data professionals on projects across Data Engineering, Analytics and AI/ML, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship in a professional setting.

The program runs June 2 through August 6, 40 hours per week, with opportunities to learn about cloud platforms, data pipelines and cross-functional collaboration. Applicants must be enrolled and eligible to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or related field.
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and Spring 2028.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Coursework, projects, internship or personal experience in Python, SQL, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Science, Cloud (AWS/Azure), AI or ML.
• Effective verbal and written communication and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Partner with experienced data professionals on projects influencing business decisions.
• Explore technologies across Data Engineering, Analytics, Cloud, AI and ML.
• Learn how data is collected, managed, transformed and utilized to create value.

Role Summary

Explore Three Unique Data Career Paths: Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and Data/AI

Are you passionate about data, technology, and using information to solve real-world business challenges? Join American Century Investments for a 10-week summer internship and gain hands-on experience working alongside talented IT data professionals who are helping shape the future of our business. Whether your interests lie in Data Engineering, Analytics, or AI and Machine Learning, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, learn from experienced mentors, and apply classroom knowledge in a professional environment.

This program is for currently enrolled undergraduate rising seniors who will graduate in December 2027 - Spring 2028. The deadline to apply is November 1, 2026.

• Location: this onsite position will be based out of our Kansas City, MO or Southlake (DFW area), TX office.
• Program dates: June 2nd - August 6th (10 weeks).
• Work schedule: 40 hours/week - Monday - Friday (8 am - 5 pm).

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

How You Will Make An Impact

What You Bring To The Team (Required)

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and Spring 2028.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Coursework, academic projects, internship experience, or personal experience in one or more of the following areas: Python, SQL, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Science, Cloud Computing (AWS or Azure), Artificial Intelligence (AI), or Machine Learning (ML).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies and concepts.
