Job summary

American Century Investments invites students to a 10‑week summer Data Internship, with paths in Data Engineering, Analytics, and AI/ML. You will work with experienced mentors on real projects to learn cloud platforms, data pipelines, and analytics tools. You must be currently enrolled and graduating 2027/2028, and be authorized to work in the U.S.

on site. You will gain hands‑on experience, receive career coaching, and network with professionals while contributing to meaningful business

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Analytics, Data Science or related field.
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and Spring 2028.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Coursework or experience in Python, SQL, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Science, Cloud (AWS or Azure), AI or ML.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; team collaboration skills.
• Demonstrates curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and concepts.

Role Summary

Explore Three Unique Data Career Paths: Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and Data/AI Are you passionate about data, technology, and using information to solve real‑world business challenges? Join American Century Investments for a 10‑week summer internship and gain hands‑on experience working alongside talented IT data professionals who are helping shape the future of our business. Whether your interests lie in Data Engineering, Analytics, or AI and Machine Learning, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, learn from experienced mentors, and apply classroom knowledge in a professional environment. This program is for currently enrolled undergraduate rising seniors who will graduate in December 2027 - Spring 2028. The deadline to apply is November 1, 2026. Location: this onsite position will be based out of our KansasCity,MO or Southlake (DFW area),TX office. Program dates: June 2nd – August 6th (10 weeks). Work schedule: 40 hours/week - Monday–Friday (8 am–5 pm). This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

Our IT organization supports every area of the business, including Investment Management, Sales, Client Services, and Corporate Functions. Through a combination of cloud technologies, custom-built applications, and industry-leading software, we deliver solutions that help people make smarter decisions with data.

What You Bring to the Team (Required)

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and Spring 2028.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Coursework, academic projects, internship experience, or personal experience in one or more of the following areas: Python, SQL, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Science, Cloud Computing (AWS or Azure), Artificial Intelligence (AI), or Machine Learning (ML).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
• Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies and concepts.
