McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a strategic Cyber Defense Director to own and scale our enterprise cyber defense program across IT and OT.

The role focuses on modernizing security capabilities, embedding secure architecture, and strengthening detection and response in a distributed, mission-critical environment. The hybrid role requires reporting to the office three days a week within a 50-minute radius of Temple, TX, and demands leadership to build high-performing security teams while aligning

Qualifications

• 15+ years IT experience with 10+ years in cybersecurity leadership and defense.
• Proven leader of enterprise cyber defense across IT+OT in distributed environments.
• Deep expertise in EDR/XDR, cloud security, Zero Trust, IAM, and secure architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise cyber defense strategy across IT and OT environments.
• Modernize security platforms to improve visibility and reduce tool sprawl.
• Define secure architecture across enterprise, identity, cloud, and OT.
• Embed security into design via standards and reference architectures.
• Partner with the Fusion Center to strengthen telemetry and response.
• Lead OT/IoT security across distribution centers and automation.
• Align OT security with Purdue Model, NIST CSF, IEC 62443; expand telemetry.
• Build and scale high-performing engineering teams and deploy security technologies.
