Performs communication-related activities and routine clerical duties.

Job Responsibilities

1. Operates telephone console:
   • Answers incoming calls and connects calls to the appropriate personnel.
   • Places authorized outside calls as per policy.
2. Performs communication and emergency activities:
   • Pages authorized personnel and announces visitor hours.
   • Responds to general inquiries and communicates with floors regarding patient room changes.
   • Answers TTY calls promptly.
   • Logs calls and alerts management as needed.
3. Performs clerical duties:
   • Maintains records, files, and cards for charges, admissions, and other data.
4. Handles alarms:
   • Calls appropriate offices when alarms sound.
5. Disseminates patient contact information:
   • Provides telephone and room numbers as required.
   • Expedites calls and accesses patient information via MED-HELP.
6. Additional duties:
   • Makes routine decisions within defined parameters.
   • Assists with communication projects and strategies.
   • Performs related duties as required.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-1 years of relevant experience required.
• Ability to communicate in English and learn console operations.
