Job summary
Erias Ventures seeks a Cloud Software Engineer to leverage data science for challenging analytic problems and develop a scalable, multi-tenant cloud environment. The role focuses on state-of-the-art ML techniques for behavioral, geo-temporal, social, and content analysis across large-scale data.
Strong coding, cloud, and distributed systems experience are required. The position may allow partial telework; Top-Secret/SCI clearance is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Java, Python, and C++/Java in the last ten years.
- Design and develop applications in Windows or UNIX/Linux environments in the last seven years.
- Experience with modern databases (Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, etc.) in the last three years.
- Experience with distributed processing (Spark, Flink, Beam, Databricks, etc.) in the last three years.
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) in the last three years.
- Object-oriented requirements analysis and design in the last three years.
- Kubernetes/AWS/Azure/GCP experience in the last two years.

We are seeking a Cloud Software Engineer who shall leverage advances in data science to support challenging analytic problems including information overload, discovery, attribution, tracking, and assessment. Develop an evolving suite of operational prototypes driven by state-of-the-art data science techniques for behavioral, geo-temporal, social, and content analysis against full-scale collection in robust, flexible, and multi-tenant cloud environments. Research to advance the science of machine learning and statistics in mission problems.
This positions may allow for partial telework.
A current Top-Secret/SCIwith polygraph security clearance (within 7 years) is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.
A bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline; an associate's degree in computer science or related discipline and two (2) years programming experience or five (5) years programming experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Within the last ten (10) years, a minimum of seven (7) years experience combined programming with all of the following languages: Java, C++, or Python
- Within the last seven (7) years, a minimum of five (5) years experience designing and developing applications in a Windows or UNIX/Linux operating environment
- Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year of experience using database technologies such as Apache Accumulo, MongoDB, ScyllaDB, Google Cloud Bigtable, Amazon DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, Postgres, or equivalent technologies
- Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year of experience using distributed batch- or stream-processing solutions such as Ray, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Beam, Databricks, cloud-native data-processing services, or equivalent technologiesWithin the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year of experience using distributed file or object storage systems such as HDFS, Amazon S3, Azure Data Lake Storage, Google Cloud Storage, or equivalent technologies
- Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year experience with requirements analysis and design for one (1) or more object-oriented systems
- Within the past two (2) years, six (6) months development experience with Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Computing Services
- Minimum 1 year hands-on MLOps experience, including fine-tuning and operationalizing small ML models

Erias Ventures provides a complete package of wealth, health, and happiness benefits. The expected salary range for this position, depending on education and years of experience is $215,000 - $250,000.
