Job summary

Erias Ventures seeks a Cloud Software Engineer to leverage data science for complex analytic problems in robust, multi-tenant cloud environments. You will develop prototypes and advance ML/statistics for mission problems, applying state-of-the-art techniques on large-scale data.

The role may support partial telework and requires a current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph clearance (within 7 years). This is a highly technical, growth-oriented position with a strong compensation package.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline; associate degree with two years’ experience or five years’ experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• 7+ years in a combined programming role using Java, C++, or Python within the last ten years.
• 5+ years designing and developing applications in Windows or UNIX/Linux environments within seven years.
• 1+ year of experience with databases like MongoDB, Bigtable, Postgres, or similar within three years.
• 1+ year of experience with distributed batch/stream processing such as Spark, Beam, or Databricks within three years.
• 1+ year of experience with distributed file/object storage like S3, HDFS within three years.
• 1+ year experience with object-oriented design and requirements analysis in the last three years.
• Within two years, 6 months of development experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Leverage data science advances to support analytic problems including discovery, tracking, and attribution.
• Develop evolving operational prototypes for behavioral, geo-temporal, social, and content analysis in multi-tenant cloud environments.
• Research and advance the science of machine learning and statistics for mission problems.

Description

We are seeking a Cloud Software Engineer who shall leverage advances in data science to support challenging analytic problems including information overload, discovery, attribution, tracking, and assessment. Develop an evolving suite of operational prototypes driven by state‑of‑the‑art data science techniques for behavioral, geo‑temporal, social, and content analysis against full‑scale collection in robust, flexible, and multi‑tenant cloud environments. Research to advance the science of machine learning and statistics in mission problems.

This positions may allow for partial telework.

Clearance

A current Top‑Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance (within 7 years) is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.

Experience

A bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline; an associate's degree in computer science or related discipline and two (2) years programming experience or five (5) years programming experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

• Within the last ten (10) years, a minimum of seven (7) years experience combined programming with all of the following languages: Java, C++, or Python


• Within the last seven (7) years, a minimum of five (5) years experience designing and developing applications in a Windows or UNIX/Linux operating environment


• Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year of experience using database technologies such as Apache Accumulo, MongoDB, ScyllaDB, Google Cloud Bigtable, Amazon DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, Postgres, or equivalent technologies


• Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year of experience using distributed batch‑or stream‑processing solutions such as Ray, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Beam, Databricks, cloud‑native data‑processing services, or equivalent technologies


• Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year of experience using distributed file or object storage systems such as HDFS, Amazon S3, Azure Data Lake Storage, Google Cloud Storage, or equivalent technologies


• Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year experience with requirements analysis and design for one (1) or more object‑oriented systems


• Within the past two (2) years, six (6) months development experience with Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Computing Services

• Minimum 1 year hands‑on MLOps experience, including fine‑tuning and operationalizing small ML models
