Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking a Network Engineer to support and optimize Cisco-based enterprise networks in a Manassas, VA data-center environment. On-site work is required with occasional remote discussions when conditions permit.

You will monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Layer 2/3 switching, VLANs, routing, and related services, using SolarWinds Orion, while coordinating with multiple IT teams to ensure reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands-on enterprise networking experience.
• Strong experience with Cisco switches and enterprise network infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of Layer 2/3, VLANs, STP, and routing.
• Familiarity with OSPF and BGP, and network monitoring tools.
• Experience with incident, problem, and change-management processes.

Responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot Cisco enterprise network infrastructure.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches.
• Monitor network performance using SolarWinds Orion.
• Maintain network diagrams, device inventories, and documentation.
• Coordinate with IT teams on incidents, changes, and deployments.
• Assist with network refreshes, equipment replacement, and projects.
