Job summary

Truist is seeking a senior data analytics professional to support the Enterprise Control and Change Office. You will lead data strategies across networks, build dashboards, and provide rapid insights to monitor portfolio risk and performance.

You will translate complex data into actionable visuals, collaborate with technology partners, and ensure data governance and quality while enabling scalable analytics across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years financial industry work experience in a business intelligence delivery, data management, or financial analytical capacity.
  • 4+ years managing developer/data/analytical environments.
  • Experience with big data frameworks.
  • Data management, data governance, and data quality experience.
  • Experience bridging technical and business talent.
  • Experience presenting analysis with Tableau, MicroStrategy, Qlik or Power BI to business partners.
  • Collaborating with technology partners on analytics-powered products.
  • Advanced degree or significant work experience in quantitative fields.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement data strategies that support multiple network environments including relational databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Provide rapid response reports, insights, and visualization across all functional areas.
  • Evaluate, manage, and report on production and portfolio risk-adjusted metrics for decision support of portfolio.
  • Translate data into engaging visualizations using BI and big data tools and methods.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain processes that generate large datasets for analytical teammates and third parties.
  • Establish working relationships and be recognized as the subject matter expert for dashboards and reporting.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop self-service data feeds and reporting.
  • Manage transition of one-time analytics to ongoing production reporting.
  • Source new data elements for structured and unstructured environments.
  • Stay abreast of latest technology and trends and identify implementation strategies.
  • Identify and remediate risk associated with BI, reporting and data governance.

The purpose of this role is to support the Enterprise Control and Change Office control-based risk program execution teams (i.e. Issues Management, RCSA, Change, and Risk Measurement) in order to deliver strong and resilient data and reporting infrastructure. The purpose of this role is to enable a highly-effective, data-driven environment in a comprehensible, actionable, and engaging manner to provide performance monitoring and decision support while ensuring that data knowledge and insights are accurate, timely, and comprehensive utilizing ethical, efficient, and scalable methods.

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Implement data strategies that support multiple network environments that include relational databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  2. Provide rapid response reports, insights, and visualization across all functional areas.
  3. Evaluate, manage, and report on production and portfolio risk-adjusted metrics including Asset Quality for decision support of portfolio.
  4. Translate data into engaging visualizations using current state and future state business intelligence and big data tools and methods.
  5. Develop, enhance, and maintain processes that generate large datasets for use by analytical teammates and third parties.
  6. Establish working relationships and be recognized as the subject matter expert for dashboards and reporting.
  7. Partner with key stakeholders to develop self-service data feeds and reporting.
  8. Manage transition and scaling of one-time analytics to on-going production reporting.
  9. Source new data elements to be housed in both structured and unstructured data environments.
  10. Stay abreast with latest technology and trends in the market and identify possible implementation strategies.
  11. Identify and remediate any risk associated with business intelligence, reporting and data governance, including staying abreast of all applicable rules and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years financial industry work experience in a business intelligence delivery, data management, or financial analytical capacity
  2. Demonstrated technical proficiency programming in one of more of the following: SQL, SAS, R, Python, Tableau, Power BI
  3. 4+ years managing developer/data/analytical environments.
  4. Utilizing experience with big data frameworks
  5. Previous data management, data governance, and data quality experience.
  6. Previous positions that bridge technical talent and business talent.
  7. Apply knowledge of visualization tools like Tableau, MicroStrategy, Qlik and Power BI to present analysis results to Business partners
  8. Work with technology partners to come up with technical solution for analytics-powered products
  9. Advanced degree or significant work-related experience in information systems, computer science, data science, computational finance, mathematics, statistics, or other quantitative field.
  10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  2. Experience with common processes and tools that support Agile methodologies
