Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of experience in communications cabling installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Experience on commercial construction and major renovation projects.
• Experience installing and supporting structured cabling systems.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and label Cat6A and single‑mode fiber cabling for enterprise technology systems.
• Deploy and support wireless access points, structured cabling systems, and related network infrastructure.
• Install and configure IP-based video surveillance systems and associated hardware.
• Implement card access and physical security technologies throughout university facilities.
• Support DAS infrastructure installations, including passive devices and cabling components.
• Collaborate with construction teams, contractors, network engineers, and other stakeholders on technology projects.
• Ensure all installations meet Duke standards for quality, testing, labeling, and documentation.
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects and assignments while meeting deadlines and customer expectations.
