Berkley Technology Services in Urbandale, IA is seeking an Enterprise Architecture Intern/Co-Op to assist with architectural reviews, business interaction, and pattern development. You will collaborate with Architects to define target architectures and support governance services.

Gain exposure to real-world projects across IT and insurance domains, work with senior leaders, and develop practical skills in architecture, data, and toolsets within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Interest in both development and non-development internship.
• Completed 2-3 years in major course of study.
• Strong aptitude in JavaScript frameworks (Next.js, React, Vue.js).
• Strong technical aptitude and MS Office, including Excel pivot tables.
• Willingness to learn new technologies quickly; self-driven.
• Excellent communication, time management, organization, and planning skills.
• Basic knowledge of SQL.
• Works well in a team environment and is detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Building Permit Coordination/Design/Follow-up: review forms, provide consultancy, follow up with requestors and vendors.
• Build Target Architectures and Patterns: research tools, interview SMEs, help build target-state architectures and patterns, ensure documentation.
• AI Pattern Development: perform POC and pattern development for AI use cases.
• Contribute to Capability Model: research tools/solutions within capabilities; align with endpoints, platforms, procurement, and asset management.
• Function as a member of the Enterprise Architecture team: attend meetings, collaborate, and track activity using Jira in Agile ceremonies.
• Metrics: assemble data and report on Enterprise Architecture OKRs.
• Communication: maintain excellent communication across technical areas.
• Multi-tasking/Prioritization: manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional environment.
