The Enterprise Architect will oversee a community of practice across all architectural roles, develop the enterprise architecture and transformation programs, govern application rationalization, and support cross-functional teams to ensure best practices in architecture.

Education

Required – Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.

Preferred – Master’s Degree

Work Experience

Required – 15 years IT/IS experience with a focus on enterprise architecture and transformation.

Preferred – Proven experience in developing and implementing enterprise architecture framework.

Certifications

Preferred – The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Certified Enterprise Architect

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Deep understanding of healthcare IT systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), Health Information Exchanges (HIE), and interoperability standards like HL7 and FHIR. Proficiency in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data management is also essential.

  • Expertise in architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or FEAF. This knowledge helps in designing robust, scalable, and sustainable enterprise architectures that align IT strategy with business goals.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to align technology solutions with business strategies and goals. This includes strategic thinking to ensure that IT infrastructure supports long-term organizational growth and adapts to evolving healthcare trends.

  • Staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends in healthcare. This includes fostering innovation and adapting to new advancements such as AI, IoT, and telemedicine.

Job Duties

  • Leads the development and implementation of the enterprise architecture framework. Develops and implement a comprehensive enterprise application strategy. Governs the application rationalization process to streamline and optimize the application portfolio.

  • Oversees a community of practice for all architectural roles within the organization. Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among architects and other IT/IS professionals. Provide mentorship and guidance to architectural teams.

  • Ensures the architecture supports scalability, security, and high availability along with alignment of application strategy with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

  • Works closely with various teams within the healthcare system to support their architectural needs. Ensures best practices related to architecture are followed across all projects and initiatives. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into architectural solutions.

  • Stays up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies. Continuously evaluate and optimize the enterprise architecture for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability. Drives innovation by exploring new architectural approaches and solutions.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
