SKILL LEVEL: 8-10 years of experience as an Enterprise Architect with a strong focus in leveraging DoDAF and TOGAF frameworks.
LOCATION: Remote (primary) with occasional on-site activities required at the client site in the National Capital Region (primarily sites in Quantico, VA and Ft Meade, MD).
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Department of Defense (DoD) issued SECRET level security clearance during employment.
The Enterprise Architect shall design and implement innovative technical solutions that meet business needs. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of software development, systems and enterprise architecture, and integration strategies. You will collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements, create architectural blueprints, model architectural blueprints in EA tools and advise development teams throughout the implementation process.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in the development, maintenance, and evolution of enterprise architecture models and artifacts in accordance with DoDAF principles and guidelines.
- Utilize advanced architecture modeling tools, specifically Cameo Systems Modeler (Cameo) and Sparx Enterprise Architect (Sparx), to create, update, and manage architecture views and models.
- Update and conduct comprehensive analysis of existing ("as-is") enterprise architectures, identifying redundancies, gaps, and areas for improvement.
- Design and develop future-state ("to-be") enterprise architectures, including business, data, application, and technology layers, that support strategic goals and enable future capabilities.
- Translate complex business requirements and mission needs into clear, actionable architectural designs and specifications.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams, program chief architect, and stakeholders to ensure architectural designs are understood, implemented correctly, and meet operational needs.
- Develop and present architectural briefings, documentation, and roadmaps to various audiences, from technical staff to senior leadership.
- Define and implement architectural governance processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality across all architectural efforts
Required Skills:
Performed client work in a Federal (DoD preferably) environment (Program Management Office (PMO) or Program Executive Office (PEO)), cloud or systems architecture experience, strong technical writing, information management, multi-tasking, time management, and intellectual curiosity.
Preferred Experience and Knowledge:
Experience with cloud migration for complex IT systems or applications, Federal (ex. FEDRAMP) and or NIST based cloud security, enterprise architecture frameworks (ex. DoDAF) and use of modeling tools (ex. CAMEO or EA Sparx), and development methodologies (Ex. Lean Agile, Agile, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)).
Education and Experience Level:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, with 8-10 years’ experience providing enterprise architecture services to include understanding of DoDAF viewpoints and their application, documenting As-Is architecture and robust To-Be architectural solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complexity.
Certifications:
Any including AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DoDAF, TOGAF (Enterprise Architecture), Zachman Framework
