Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks an Enterprise Architect to define enterprise architecture principles, policies, and standards and to lead their integration with IT processes across business, data, application, technology, and security domains.

This position is 100% federally funded, time-limited, and eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with onsite reporting located in Raleigh, NC.

Description of Work

Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining Enterprise Architecture (EA)principles, policies, andstandards and for leading the integration of these principles and standards with other relatedbusiness and IT processes. This position provides direction in all architecture domains in support ofcurrent and future IT operations, Federal, State and Departmental regulations, and compliance withdefined architecture principles, standards and models. EA is accountable for the development,direction, performance, ongoing maintenance, and evolution of NC DHHS' Business, Application,Data, Technology, Integration and Security architecture frameworks.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Grade Range: $105,341.00 - $184,345.00

Recruitment Range: $105,341.00 - $148,625.00

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Documented knowledge reviewing, guiding, and supporting enterprise-wide IT projects and IT procurements governed by enterprise architecture.
  • Documented skill in establishing and upholding state-wide enterprise architecture principles, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency, interoperability, security, and optimization.
  • Develop/ Implement Enterprise Standards, Framework, Cloud Strategy, Cloud Governance/Principles Framework
  • Relevant experience in the development of policies, standards, and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation, and use of Information Technology within the enterprise.
  • Foster innovation and implement creative out-of-the-box ideas by conducting brainstorming sessions, hackathons and other innovation events and elevate the thinking

About the NC DHHS Information Technology Division

In collaboration with our partners, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) protects the health and safety of all North Carolinians and provides essential health and human services. The IT division (ITD) is one of the divisions that report to the Operational Excellence portfolio. The ITD division comprises four sections: Implementation and Operations, Strategy and Workforce, Enterprise Technology, and Vendor and Finance. ITD offers the following services but not limited to implementations, operations, project/portfolio management, infrastructure, consulting, business division liaison, digital transformation, IT strategy, enterprise technology, IT contract and vendor management, and data office services.
