- Architect and coordinate applications for new factory orchestration systems
- Define end-to-end integration patterns across SAP ERP and planning, MES/i4.0, AI and data platforms, and robotics
- Create technical roadmaps to modernize factory application portfolios and support high availability and stable operations
- Define, document, and communicate solution architectures using TOGAF ADM and modeling tools
- Prototype and pilot new platforms and systems; conduct technology assessments and proofs of concept
- Provide technical leadership to Agile teams and mentor developers toward solution-architect roles
- Partner with infrastructure, networking, and cloud teams on scalability, reliability, security, and observability
- Develop reusable patterns, building blocks, and reference implementations; contribute hands-on code where appropriate
- Track emerging technologies and Industry 4.0 trends and recommend innovations for continuous improvement and uptime
- Collaborate with Factory Industry 4.0, Data, Enterprise Architecture, and Capacity Growth Office teams to deliver connected-factory architectures and roadmaps
Requirements
- University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience
- Industrial/manufacturing experience architecting, designing, developing, and deploying resilient enterprise-grade applications in factory settings
- Experience with enterprise application integration across ERP, MES, IIoT, and data systems
- Experience architecting AI capabilities into solutions
- Experience deploying and hosting applications on AWS and/or Microsoft Azure and integrating with private/on-premises environments
- Full-stack enterprise software development experience, such as Java/Spring Boot and Python/Flask
- Experience with modern UI frameworks such as Angular or React
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance
- U.S. citizenship required
- Active and existing DoD Secret security clearance required after day 1
- Preferred: industrial communications and IIoT protocols including MQTT, OPC UA, and Modbus
- Preferred: Ignition, Kepware, SCADA, ISA-95, Purdue models, digital thread, SAP integration, API design, 12-factor applications, RDBMS, graph and NoSQL databases
- Preferred: CI/CD and DevOps tools including Jenkins, Jira, Terraform, Artifactory, Maven, Git, Kubernetes, ECS, Docker, and application observability
- Preferred: high-availability and resiliency architecture, ontologies, knowledge graphs, semantic technologies, Agentic and AI platforms
- Preferred: troubleshooting full-stack applications and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform/Ansible
- Preferred: TOGAF or DoDAF certification, or experience creating ArchiMate, UML, BPMN, or SysML models using enterprise modeling tools such as Cameo or Sparx
