Job summary

Atkore is seeking an AI Solutions Engineer to join the AI team, interfacing between AI use cases and enterprise systems. Based in the Mokena, IL or Dallas, TX offices, you will translate AI strategies into scalable, observable, secure integrations across ERP, MES, CRM, and data platforms.

You will collaborate with IT and business partners to deliver production-ready AI solutions, build agent runtimes, and ensure robust observability and security throughout the SDLC.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Business or related field of study.
• At least 5 years of experience in backend software development or enterprise systems integration.
• Proficiency in Python, RESTful API design, and data serialization formats such as JSON and YAML.
• Experience working with enterprise data platforms, message queues, or service buses.
• Working knowledge of AI and agent-based architectures, including LLM APIs and retrieval-augmented generation concepts.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Familiarity with data platforms and analytics ecosystems.
• Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle and Agile delivery processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience integrating with legacy systems, manufacturing, or OT environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AI agent runtime environments supporting internal AI tools and solutions.
• Develop and manage connectors and integrations with enterprise platforms such as ERP, MES, CRM, databases, and file systems.
• Standardize and expose data and process access through REST, GraphQL, or asynchronous APIs.
• Implement observability, logging, and error-handling frameworks to monitor AI agent behavior and performance.
• Partner with business analysts, product owners, and application teams to translate AI use cases into production-ready integrations.
• Contribute to shared metadata standards, interface contracts, and integration patterns for reusable AI capabilities.
• Support secure and scalable AI adoption by aligning with cybersecurity, data governance, and infrastructure standards.
• Stay current on emerging AI agent architectures and enterprise AI best practices.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Application Integration, and other IT teams to enable AI use cases across Atkore operations.
