Job summary

Western Alliance Bank, a subsidiary of Western Alliance Bancorporation, is seeking a Staff Engineer I for Enterprise Application Services to own and administer the enterprise AI agent platform, including Foundry governance, security, and incident response. You will lead platform operations, collaborate with security and infrastructure teams, and guide engineering across projects.

The role requires 5+ years in software engineering, a related Bachelor's degree, and experience with Python, C#/.Net,

Qualifications

5+ years of related experience in software development or engineering.
Bachelor's degree in related field required.
Experience with programming languages: Python, C#/.Net, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with Microsoft Foundry or Foundry IQ preferred.
Experience developing Copilot Studio alongside Foundry-built agents or Power Platform preferred.
Understanding of AI models, pricing models, and the long-term cost implications of enterprise AI workloads is preferred.
Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
Advanced proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously; Azure DevOps experience.
Excellent written and spoken communication; travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical owner and administrator of the enterprise AI agent platform, including governance, security and compliance.
Manage platform operations: environment administration, access controls, monitoring, incident response and governance.
Partner with security, infrastructure, identity and application teams to align with standards.
Provide technical leadership to enable development, deployment, optimization and ongoing operation of AI agents.
Create and configure Foundry projects, agents, connections and resources.
Deploy and manage models from the catalog, configure quotas and guardrail policies.
Assign and audit Foundry RBAC roles.
Provide platform support for capacity, runtimes, tracing and incident reports.
Collaborate with Principal Engineers to ensure designs align with standards.
Design and implement platform-level monitoring and observability with meaningful metrics.
