Job summary

Carter’s Inc. is seeking an AI Developer to build and deliver enterprise AI solutions across merchandising, supply chain, finance, stores, and digital. You will prototype prioritized use cases, develop agentic workflows, and ship production-ready components while aligning with CoE standards.

Required experience includes Python/TypeScript, cloud platforms, and LLM APIs, with a focus on maintainable code, documentation, and collaboration with business partners.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of Software Development experience (internships count) with Python and/or TypeScript
• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, or LLM evaluation frameworks
• Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs prompting, function/tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, or agent frameworks
• REST, webhooks, auth, and ability to read/apply system documentation
• Working SQL and data fluency for AI inputs
• Git, CI/CD, and writing maintainable code
• Strong communication with business partners

Responsibilities

• Build enterprise AI solutions — apps, micro-apps, AI platform capabilities, and integrations
• Develop agentic workflows and Claude/LLM-based tools connected to Tableau, Redshift, Jira, and Outlook
• Prototype prioritized use cases and turn pilots into production-ready solutions
• Create and maintain code quality, reviews, and reusable components
• Document patterns and hand over components to the shared platform library
• Adhere to enterprise AI policy, risk controls, and security standards
• Measure adoption, saved hours, and business impact for each release
• Provide handover walkthroughs and user guides to developers and champions
