Job summary

Carter's Inc. in the United States is seeking a Manager, AI Development to lead the Enterprise AI Center of Excellence.

You will mentor a team of AI developers, design solution architectures, and translate prioritized use cases into production AI solutions such as agentic workflows and automations. You will partner with architectural and delivery leaders, oversee sprint planning, ensure security and governance, and raise the technical bar with reusable patterns.

Qualifications

• At least 7+ years of software and/or data analytics development experience.
• 2+ years leading or managing developers, including 1+ years building Generative AI (GenAI)/LLMs-based solutions.
• Hands-on AI development—practical experience shipping LLM applications, agentic workflows, or AI-powered automations against enterprise systems and APIs.
• Proven experience with enterprise AI platforms and frameworks (e.g., Claude/Anthropic API, Azure OpenAI, MCP-style tool integrations, RAG architectures)

Responsibilities

• Delivery Leadership & Team Management: manage the AI CoE development team, plan sprints, review code, and report status to leadership.
• Hands-On Development & Technical Consulting: design and build complex AI solutions, consult with business units, prototype patterns and productionize pilots.
• Standards, Quality & Enablement: define coding, testing, documentation, and release practices; curate reusable patterns; ensure security reviews and governance.
• Mentor developers across business units and support office hours to move prototypes into supported solutions.
