About the Role

Smartsheet is seeking an experienced sales professional to join our team as an Enterprise Account Executive. You will have a proven track record of quota attainment and developing customer accounts within the Higher Education or State and Local Government sectors.

This remote role will cover the PNW Region (Washington, British Columbia, Alaska, and Hawaii) and report to a Regional Director, Enterprise EDU. We are also hiring for individuals local to Illinois and Wisconsin. You will leverage your expertise in enterprise software sales and your understanding of the higher education landscape to build strong relationships with key decision-makers including CIOs, CTOs, provosts, and other senior administrators. This role requires a strategic, consultative sales approach and the ability to navigate complex procurement processes.

Responsibilities
  1. Navigate complex procurement processes and cycles within Higher Education and School Districts.
  2. Identify and engage key stakeholders at colleges and universities, including leadership and administrative teams.
  3. Travel to customer sites at least quarterly, based on opportunities.
  4. Respond to RFPs and RFQs effectively.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with CIOs, IT Directors, Procurement Officers, and other stakeholders.
  6. Research industry trends and customer needs.
  7. Travel onsite for presentations, user groups, and industry events.
  8. Tailor sales presentations and proposals to meet the specific needs of educational institutions.
  9. Maintain expertise in enterprise technology solutions such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, SaaS, and digital transformation.
  10. Manage full sales cycle for accounts with 5k-20k+ employees.
  11. Develop new business within existing accounts and expand footprint across departments.
  12. Demonstrate Smartsheet’s solutions and value proposition.
  13. Build sales pipeline and forecast accurately using CRM tools.
  14. Coordinate with sales engineers, solutions consultants, and customer success teams.
  15. Create tailored proposals based on customer outcomes.
  16. Track key metrics to monitor sales activities and pipeline health.
  17. Manage customer lifecycle from pre-sale to renewal.
Qualifications
  1. 7+ years of full-cycle sales experience in a technology field; SaaS experience preferred.
  2. Located in the PNW region.
  3. Proven success selling into government, K-12, or higher education markets.
  4. Experience with RFPs, procurement cycles, and government contracting (e.g., NASPO, GSA).
  5. Strong relationship management skills in a B2B environment.
  6. Willingness to travel within the region.
  7. Territory management and account research skills.
  8. Data-driven sales approach.
  9. Ability to work under pressure, self-motivated, resourceful.
  10. Excellent communication skills.
  11. Proficiency with CRM software and Google Suite.
Benefits & Compensation

Base salary range: $90,000 - $150,000 USD, plus market-competitive incentives. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k match, paid holidays, parental leave, professional development, and flexible teleworking options.
