Overview
Cortex is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Enterprise Account Executive to support and grow our portfolio of Class A commercial real estate (CRE) clients. You will be the primary post-sale point of contact for property managers, building teams and asset managers, ensuring they achieve tangible value from our tech-enabled services and software platform. As an Account Executive, you will drive platform adoption, engagement, and retention through onboarding, proactive account management, and collaboration across internal teams. This is an ideal role for someone with significant experience in energy-related software, services, and projects, including building retrofits, demand response, utility bill management, and monitoring-based commissioning, with a passion for customer relationships at the intersection of energy markets, commercial building operations, and customer value. You must be an exceptional communicator capable of building rapport and trust with clients and internal stakeholders through frequent in-person meetings, live and video executive briefings, and live phone interactions.

Key Responsibilities
- Customer Success and Retention: Own the success of a portfolio of enterprise CRE clients, driving engagement, satisfaction, and value.
- Customer understanding: Develop a deep understanding of each customer’s portfolio, operational goals, and energy performance needs, providing recommendations and insights.
- Advisor role: Serve as a trusted advisor to building engineers, asset managers, and sustainability leaders, guiding them on strategies to improve asset value through operational and CapEx strategies and digitalization of energy data.
- Training and Adoption: Lead engagement efforts, ensuring seamless implementation of the Cortex platform across multiple buildings and stakeholders.
- Relationship building: Build relationships with building teams to uncover opportunities to improve assets by leveraging energy insights, incentives, utility bill data, and operational strategies.
- Cross-functional coordination: Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, product, data operations) to meet client expectations and timelines and tailor opportunities for deeper impact.
- Value delivery: Deliver regular reporting, insights, and performance reviews demonstrating platform impact on energy usage and cost savings.
- Strategic engagement: Conduct strategic check-ins and quarterly business reviews to reinforce Cortex value and identify growth opportunities.
- Account health: Actively monitor account health and proactively address opportunities for improved service delivery.
- Content for ESG reporting: Develop content for client ESG and sustainability reports highlighting the impact of real-time energy management strategies.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with Sales, Product, and Technical Account Management teams to surface client feedback, support product development, and identify expansion opportunities.
- Delivery orchestration: Ensure coordinated service delivery across internal and client-facing stakeholders, focusing on high-impact areas and adapting delivery to client workflows.
- Timely project delivery: Lead urgent, time-sensitive projects with accountability, including regular travel, executive-facing deliverables, and in-person workshops and trainings.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in direct B2B sales, account management, or energy transition client delivery roles for flexibility solutions, energy efficiency or utility bill services for commercial/industrial customers in US deregulated energy markets. Fluency in key trends in energy markets, energy efficiency, and building performance standards across major US markets.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Strong communication, presentation, and data storytelling skills. Reasonable experience building and reporting against project finance models and pro formas.
- Superbly organized and detail-oriented project manager with the ability to juggle multiple clients and priorities.
- Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, fast-paced environments, and evolving processes.
- Familiarity with Salesforce; RocketLane is a plus.
- BA/BS required.
