Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Wake Forest Health Network’s ENT clinic in High Point. The role emphasizes instrument reprocessing, infection prevention workflows, and cross-training to assist CMAs as needed.

Responsibilities include patient rooming, intake, EMR management, medication prior authorizations, and administrative tasks to ensure efficient clinic operations and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required
• 1 year experience preferred
• Ability to lift 35 pounds and perform clinical tasks within MA scope of practice
• Proficient computer skills and use of EMR systems

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patient for exam, document health information and vital signs.
• Perform basic lab procedures (strep test, wound culture, specimen collection) and phlebotomy as trained.
• Assist Physician/APP with procedures (pelvic exams, testing) and administer routine medications per orders.
• Process patient forms, medical documentation and referrals; manage EMR inbox messages.
• Provide general clinical and operational support to ensure smooth clinic flow and continuity of care.
• Collaborate with providers and staff to support clinic operations and patient care.
