Job summary

EVMS Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeons team in Norfolk, VA. Under direct supervision, you will assist with clinical tasks for assigned care teams, perform chart prep, and ensure timely communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities include coordinating referrals, imaging requests, authorizations, and scheduling, while maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• Certification as Medical Assistant (RMA or CMA) is required.
• Experience in a fast-paced medical office/clinical area is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare charts by reviewing notes, gathering test results, loading images, and documenting patient information in the EMR.
• Coordinate scheduling and communications for patient needs including imaging, clearances, and authorizations.
• Complete delegated tasks (messages, refills, lab results, referrals) and ensure items are updated before close of day.
