Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in sales, customer service, or outreach/enrollment roles.
  • Bilingual proficiency assessment required for bilingual roles.
  • Valid California Driver's License preferred.

Under the direction of the Enrollment Assistance Manager, the Enrollment Specialist is responsible for providing full-service application assistance to the uninsured, including screening for program eligibility, completing a Covered California or Medi-Cal application, and submitting the application to the respective office on behalf of the applicant. The specialist will follow-up to ensure the application is processed and a final decision is made. Additionally, they will outreach to auto-enrolled members and assist newly enrolled Medi-Cal beneficiaries with enrollment processes.

This position requires bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with a language assessment required for employment.

Education & Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in sales, outbound telemarketing, high-volume customer service, or outreach/enrollment roles
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Certification from Covered California to conduct applications is required; if not possessed at hire, must be obtained within 6 months and renewed annually
  • Bilingual proficiency assessment required for bilingual roles
Key Qualifications
  • Preferred: Valid California Driver's License
  • Knowledge of Medi-Cal and Covered California eligibility and application processes
  • Excellent customer service and phone etiquette skills
  • Proficiency in data entry
  • Work hours typically from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with some weekend work depending on department needs
