Job summary

AFA American Fidelity Assurance Company in Oklahoma City is seeking a database developer with 3–5 years of experience to design and optimize ETL processes, manage SQL data flows, and support enrollment-related data interfaces.

Must reside in the OKC metro area and be proficient with SQL Server, Oracle, and EDI technologies; familiarity with Agile or Waterfall project methods is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in database development or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with enrollment or payroll systems.
• Skilled in developing ETL and SQL processes that are efficient and meet departmental expectations.
• Strong knowledge of EDI technology, tactics, and processes.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team to deliver solutions and adapt to new environments and tool sets.
• Good communication skills, able to explain ideas, specifications, and status updates to both technical and non-technical professionals.
• Knowledgeable of department-level databases (Access, SQL Server, etc.).
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong motivation.
• Skilled in developing queries and stored procedures through SQL scripts.
• Experience working within project management methodologies such as Agile/Scrum or Waterfall.
• Commitment to meeting organizational, departmental, and team goals and objectives.
• Understanding of software development practices and strong focus on deadlines and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Query data from database systems such as Oracle, MS SQL Server or other database management systems.
• Provide support for Enrollment EDI processing, including design and operations.
• Manage daily electronic data interchange (EDI) operations for the Enrollment Solutions department.
