Job summary

Galen College of Nursing in Roanoke, VA is seeking an Enrollment Counselor to guide prospective students through the decision and enrollment process. You will be the main point of contact for students from inquiry to enrollment, providing information about on-campus programs and campus visits.

This role requires strong communication, ability to manage multiple channels, and attention to documentation, transfer credits, immunizations, and financing steps, while ensuring adherence to college

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in higher education, student recruitment or marketing preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, oral, and technical skills.
• Confident, customer-friendly demeanor.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with Recruit and Colleague preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on inquiries via phone, email, web chat, and social media.
• Input data and document follow-up with prospective students in Recruit and Colleague.
• Provide program information and campus tours to prospective students.
• Notify students of acceptance and welcome them to the college.
• Explain enrollment requirements and time commitment of programs.
• Ensure students are oriented to program policies.
• Guide students through enrollment and document collection.
• Verify transfer credits and prerequisite requirements (immunizations/background checks).
• Meet with students to sign enrollment agreements.
• Stay updated on college policies and accrediting guidelines.
• Advise on securing financing paperwork for education.

Position Overview

As an Enrollment Counselor at Galen College of Nursing, you will assist prospective students through the process of making informed decisions to meet their educational goals. The counselor serves as the main point of contact for students throughout the enrollment process.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow up on inquiries through phone calls, emails, web chat, and social media platforms.
• Utilize Recruit and Colleague to input data and document follow-up with prospective students.
• Provide in-depth information on on-campus programs and give tours to prospective students.
• Notify students of acceptance into the program, welcoming them to the college.
• Reiterate the level of commitment and time required to be successful in their outlined program of study, sharing further details and answering questions as needed.
• Ensure students are oriented to program expectations and policies.
• Guide students through the enrollment process including:
• Continuously follow up with the students to ensure all documentation is received as required.
• Making sure the student understands and agrees with the transfer credit awarded
• Verifying all pre-requisite rules are met, including immunizations and background screenings.
• Meeting with students to explain and have them sign the enrollment agreement.
• Understand and maintain current knowledge of college policies and processes and relevant accrediting and regulatory agency guidelines.
• Provide guidance regarding securing the required paperwork needed for financing their education.

Position Requirements

• Minimum of an earned baccalaureate degree, preferred, or equivalent experience in lieu of education. Prior experience in higher education, student recruitment, retention, or marketing preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, oral, and technical skills.
• Confident presence and customer-friendly demeanor.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
• Prior experience with Recruit and/or Colleague preferred.
