Job summary

Galen College of Nursing in Florida is seeking an Enrollment Counselor to help prospective students navigate the admissions process, provide program information, tours, and personalized guidance to meet their educational goals.

You will manage inquiries via phone, email, chat, and social platforms, document follow-ups in Recruit/Colleague, verify prerequisites, and guide students from inquiry to enrollment while upholding campus policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; higher education or recruitment experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, oral, and technical skills required.
  • Confident, customer‑friendly demeanor in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Recruit and/or Colleague preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow up on inquiries via phone, email, web chat, and social media.
  • Input data and document follow‑up with prospective students in Recruit/Colleague.
  • Provide information on on‑campus programs and conduct campus tours.
  • Notify accepted students and guide them through enrollment.
  • Explain program commitments, requirements, and transfer credits.
  • Ensure students are oriented to policies and expectations.
  • Guide students through the enrollment process and paperwork.
  • Verify documentation and ensure prerequisites are met (immunizations, screenings).
  • Meet and sign enrollment agreements with students.
  • Stay current on college policies, processes, accrediting and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist with financing paperwork and related logistics.

Position Overview

As an Enrollment Counselor, you will assist prospective students in making informed decisions to meet their educational goals. The counselor serves as the main point of contact for students throughout the enrollment process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow up on inquiries through phone calls, emails, web chat, and social media platforms.
  • Utilize Recruit and Colleague to input data and document follow‑up with prospective students.
  • Provide in‑depth information on on‑campus programs and give tours to prospective students.
  • Notify students of acceptance into the program, welcoming them to the college.
  • Reiterate the level of commitment and time required to be successful in their program of study, sharing further details and answering questions as needed.
  • Ensure students are oriented to program expectations and policies.
  • Guide students through the enrollment process.
  • Continuously follow up with students to ensure all documentation is received as required.
  • Verify that students understand and agree with the transfer credit awarded.
  • Verify that pre‑requisite rules are met, including immunizations and background screenings.
  • Meet with students to explain and have them sign the enrollment agreement.
  • Maintain current knowledge of college policies, processes, accrediting and regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Provide guidance regarding securing the required paperwork needed for financing their education.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of an earned baccalaureate degree, preferred, or equivalent experience in lieu of education. Prior experience in higher education, student recruitment, retention, or marketing preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, oral, and technical skills.
  • Confident presence and customer‑friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Prior experience with Recruit and/or Colleague preferred.
