Job summary

Willamalane Park and Recreation District is seeking an Assistant Teacher for Early Childhood Programs to support Lead Teacher with monthly curriculum and activities. The role focuses on a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for preschool–kindergarten children, with hands-on supervision and intervention as needed.

Part-time, non-exempt, benefits eligible, 5 days a week schedule 10:15 AM to 5:45 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 1 year of experience with preschool/kindergarten children.
• Associate degree or certificate in early childhood preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish or ASL encouraged; proficiency test for rate adjustment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor participant safety with attendance and head counts.
• Lead and supervise children in age-appropriate enrichment activities.
• Prepare and serve snacks and maintain clean up.
• Provide positive behavior support and social-emotional guidance.
• Respond to parent questions and document progress.
• Maintain records for programs and activities.
