Job summary

Mariani Enterprises LLC is seeking an entry-level landscaper to support residential projects across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. You will assist with planting, bed preparation, sod installation, and general site upkeep under supervision.

No prior experience is required, but a strong work ethic, physical fitness, and reliable transportation help. The role offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits through the company.

Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates welcome and not strictly required experience in landscaping.
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing outdoor labor in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planting trees, shrubs, and seasonal material at residential properties.
• Prepare planting beds and lawns, including soil prep, digging, mulching, edging, and sod or seed installation.
• Assist with landscape renovations and maintenance under crew direction.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized job sites and properly operate tools and equipment.
• Work with Crew Leader and team to complete projects efficiently and to quality standards.

Job Description

Planted Earth is a distinguished Residential Landscape Contracting and Maintenance company, renowned for working with the region’s most talented Landscape Architects. We install and maintain premier landscapes across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C.

Responsibilities

• Assist with landscape enhancements and improvements at residential properties, including planting trees, shrubs, perennials, and seasonal plant material.
• Prepare planting beds and lawns, including soil preparation, digging properly sized planting holes, mulching, edging, and installing sod or seed.
• Assist with landscape renovations, plant replacements, and other enhancement projects as directed by the Crew Leader.
• Follow proper planting and horticultural practices to support plant health and long-term landscape performance.
• Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power equipment, and other landscaping equipment.
• Ensure equipment and tools are properly maintained, fueled, and ready for daily use.
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites, vehicles, and equipment.
• Participate in company training and follow established safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the Crew Leader and team members to complete projects efficiently and to Planted Earth’s quality standards.

Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates welcome! Previous experience in professional landscaping, gardening, or horticulture is a plus, but not required.
• Previous experience planting trees, shrubs, and other landscape materials is preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of landscape installation techniques and equipment is a plus.
• Ability to operate basic landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for gardening.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
