Job summary

Mariani Enterprises LLC is seeking an entry-level landscaping assistant in Maryland to support residential projects. You will assist with planting trees, shrubs, and seasonal materials, prepare beds, and help with renovations under the Crew Leader’s guidance.

Qualifications

• Open to entry-level candidates.
• Experience in landscaping/gardening is a plus but not required.
• Experience planting trees and shrubs is preferred but not required.
• Ability to use basic landscaping equipment safely.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with landscape enhancements at residential properties, including planting trees, shrubs, perennials, and seasonal plant material.
• Prepare planting beds and lawns: soil prep, holes, mulching, edging, sod/seed.
• Assist with landscape renovations and plant replacements as directed by Crew Leader.
• Follow proper planting practices to support plant health and long-term performance.
• Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power equipment, and landscaping gear.
• Maintain clean, organized job sites, vehicles, and equipment.
• Participate in training and follow safety procedures.
• Collaborate with Crew Leader and team to complete projects to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with landscape enhancements and improvements at residential properties, including planting trees, shrubs, perennials, and seasonal plant material.
• Prepare planting beds and lawns, including soil preparation, digging properly sized planting holes, mulching, edging, and installing sod or seed.
• Assist with landscape renovations, plant replacements, and other enhancement projects as directed by the Crew Leader.
• Follow proper planting and horticultural practices to support plant health and long-term landscape performance.
• Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power equipment, and other landscaping equipment.
• Ensure equipment and tools are properly maintained, fueled, and ready for daily use.
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites, vehicles, and equipment.
• Participate in company training and follow established safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the Crew Leader and team members to complete projects efficiently and to Planted Earth's quality standards.

Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates welcome!
• Previous experience in professional landscaping, gardening, or horticulture is a plus, but not required.
• Previous experience planting trees, shrubs, and other landscape materials is preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of landscape installation techniques and equipment is a plus.
• Ability to operate basic landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for gardening.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
