Job summary

Pebl, based in Palo Alto, is seeking a hands-on Senior Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact Growth team. You will guide technical strategy, code alongside your engineers, and drive AI-native practices using Claude Code to boost velocity and quality.

You will partner with product and data to shape roadmaps for activation and retention, build scalable systems with React, TypeScript, and AWS, and mentor engineers while maintaining rigorous quality and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of formal experience in engineering management leading a team.
• Proven full-stack experience with React, TypeScript, and AWS.
• Experience leveraging Claude Code or similar LLM tools to speed development.
• Track record in SaaS growth: activation, retention, metrics-driven UX.
• Strong communication across leadership and cross-functional teams.

• Operational excellence: maintain observability and quality benchmarks while accelerating delivery with AI tools.
• On-site collaboration: foster in-person teamwork at our Palo Alto office (Mon-Wed) to enhance cross-functional problem solving.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact team within our Growth organization. This is a critical leadership role for someone who is not only a seasoned manager but also an active practitioner in the AI-augmented development era. You will lead a high-performing team focused on driving specific user acquisition, activation, or retention initiatives for our customer-facing products. You will build scalable, reliable, and extensible systems using React, TypeScript, and AWS, while driving our shift toward "AI-native" engineering by standardizing tools like Claude Code to maximize team velocity and code quality.

Responsibilities

• Hands-On Team Leadership: Lead the technical strategy for your team within the Growth organization, actively participating in the development lifecycle. You will lead by example, rolling up your sleeves to code, review, and architect solutions alongside your team.

• AI-Native Execution: Champion an "AI-first" engineering culture within your team, integrating Claude Code and other LLM harnesses into our daily workflow to accelerate experimentation and product velocity.

• Growth Engineering Strategy: Partner with product management and data teams to define the technical roadmap for your domain’s acquisition and retention goals. Ensure your team’s output is built on modern, scalable architecture using React, TypeScript, and AWS.

• Team Growth & Mentorship: Recruit, mentor, and grow high-potential engineers. Balance "human-led" mentorship with "AI-augmented" professional development.

• Operational Excellence: Maintain high observability and stability standards. You are responsible for ensuring your domain’s experiments and product features meet rigorous quality benchmarks, even as we accelerate delivery with AI tools.

• On-Site Collaboration: Foster a collaborative in-person environment in our Palo Alto office (Mon-Wed) to build team cohesion and drive faster cross-functional problem solving.

Qualifications & Skills

• Management Experience: 5+ years of formal experience in engineering management leading a team of engineers.

• Technical Stack: Proven expertise in full-stack development, specifically React, TypeScript, and AWS (e.g., Lambda, ECS, RDS).

• AI Expertise: Demonstrated ability to leverage LLM-integrated agents (specifically Claude Code) to improve software development lifecycle (SDLC) speed and code quality.

• Growth Mindset: Proven track record of delivering customer-facing SaaS products with a focus on metrics-driven growth, conversion, and user experience.

• Communication: Ability to distill complex technical/AI-related trade-offs into actionable plans for leadership and cross-functional partners.
