Job summary

Legacy Traditional Schools seeks an English Learner Specialist to oversee the English Learner Program and support teachers serving English learners. The role involves AZELLA training, progress monitoring, and coordination with administrators to implement language development strategies.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Education, a valid teaching license, ESL/Bilingual/SEI endorsement, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• Certification required for the role.
• ESL, Bilingual, or SEI Endorsement required.
• Teaching license required.
• Must pass a criminal history background check.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Participate in AZELLA training and support required testing, data interpretation, and student progress monitoring.
• Provide professional development and instructional support for teachers serving English learners.
• Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and the School Testing Coordinator to coordinate English learner services.
• Provide required English Language Development services and supplemental push-in, pull-out, intervention, or tutoring services based on student needs.
• Track student English language acquisition and academic progress.
• Maintain required program records and documentation of supplemental Title III activities.
• Create a safe, positive, organized, and culturally responsive learning environment.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, colleagues, and the community.
