Job summary

Vertex Education is seeking an English Learner Specialist to oversee and support the English Learner Program at the assigned site in Phoenix. The role requires implementing AZELLA-related activities, supporting teachers with EL services, and monitoring student progress to ensure language and academic growth.

You will collaborate with administrators and staff to provide professional development, maintain program records, and ensure compliance with Title III requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an education-related field.
• Certification Required ESL, Bilingual, or SEI Endorsement; teaching license required.
• Must pass a criminal history background check.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of language acquisition practices and standards.
• Supports administrators, teachers, and staff in implementing and monitoring the English Learner Program.
• Provides targeted English language and academic instruction based on identified student needs.
• Tracks student progress and uses data to plan instruction and adjust interventions.
• Maintains required program records and documentation of Title III activities.
• Creates a safe, positive learning environment and communicates professionally with students, parents, and staff.
• Collaborates with teachers and school staff to coordinate English learner services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
