Qualifications include an Associate degree or equivalent, English proficiency, confidentiality, and physical stamina.

Qualifications

• An Associate's degree, OR completion of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours at an institution of higher learning, OR demonstrated proficiency in the ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing and mathematics via state or locally approved competency test.
• Ability to speak, read and write English proficiently.
• Ability to speak another language preferred, not required.
• Maintain high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, balance, stoop, climb steps and reach overhead

Responsibilities

• Reinforce learning with individual students or small groups.
• Model appropriate student behaviors.
• Maintain rapport with teachers and staff.
• Assist with arrival and dismissal.
• Supervise students during lunch and recess.
• Assist with grading and homework review.
• Monitor and record student performance.
• Support classroom management and routine duties.
• Supervise during lunch/recess periods.
• Organize materials and schedules.
• Assist students with educational software.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
