Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks an ELD teacher to lead English language development for students eligible for ELD services. You will plan and provide instruction, collaborate with administrators, counselors and teachers, and act as a resource for families on language development and cultural adaptation.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and Maryland ESOL/ELD certification; strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse multilingual learners are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of second language teaching/learning methods.
• Ability to coordinate with administrators, counselors and teachers.
• Fluency in another language is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver English language development instruction for eligible ELD/ESOL students.
• Collaborate with school staff to support EM learners and tailor instruction.
• Explain the ELD program to parents and guardians as needed.
• Serve as a resource on ELD and cultural/linguistic differences for students, families, and staff.
