Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate, student-centered English II Teacher to join our team. The ideal educator will bring strong ELA and Louisiana Guidebook content knowledge, a commitment to equitable instruction, and the ability to integrate technology meaningfully into daily learning. This teacher will play a key role in building literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills-setting the tone for students' academic journey through high school.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, standards-aligned English II instruction based on Louisiana ELA standards.
• Use formative and summative assessment data to drive instruction, interventions, and enrichment.
• Create engaging, technology-enhanced lessons aligned with our status as a Verizon Innovative Learning School.

Additional Expectations

• All staff are required to sponsor one club or Enrichment during school hours as part of their role.
• Teachers at HAA are expected to grow continually in their use of instructional technology to support digital equity and meaningful engagement.
• Participate in school events, data meetings, PLCs, and professional learning aligned to the Academy's vision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field (required)
• Valid Louisiana teaching certificate in Secondary English, or eligibility to obtain one
• Prior high school English teaching experience preferred
