The Virginia Commonwealth University College of Humanities and Sciences is recruiting a pool of adjunct faculty through June 30, 2026, for course sections within the English Department in the areas of Writing, Creative Writing, Linguistics, Literature and Film. This pool will be utilized on an as-needed basis. Your application will remain active until June 30, 2026; you may resubmit your application for subsequent years. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
Position duties include:
Master’s degree in a related field with experience and specializedexpertise directly related to the position.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment ofrespect, professionalism, and civility with a population offaculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds andexperiences, or a commitment to do so as a member of VCU.
Ph.D. or another doctoral degree in a related discipline ordirectly related to the position is highly preferred.
Previous experience teaching courses within the Department ofEnglish curriculum.
Demonstrated teaching experience.
