Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to facilitate course objectives at VCU's Honors College. The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree and be able to engage with diverse student populations, fostering respect and professionalism.

The role includes grading assignments and timely communication with students. A Ph.D. and prior teaching experience are preferred. The position offers a salary of $1,437 per credit hour, with an expected workload of 28 hours per week.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Facilitate the course objectives
• Meet all designated course instruction guidelines
• Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner based on instructions/rubric provided
• Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours
• Submit final grades according to College and department policies

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in psychology, counseling, education, behavioral health, student affairs, student development, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the emotional, motivational, and developmental needs of college students.
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in psychology, education, counseling, or a related discipline.
• Prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
