Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) in Virginia seeks an Adjunct Faculty - English-Loudoun to teach English courses in the designated discipline. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or higher in the teaching field (or a Master’s with 18 graduate hours) from a regionally accredited institution, and demonstrate ability to teach

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in the teaching field or master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching field. Qualifying degrees and coursework must be awarded by and/or completed with a regionally accredited institution.
• Experience teaching English composition at the college or high school level is desirable.
• Experience teaching in classroom, hybrid, and online formats.
• Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
• Experience teaching students from diverse language backgrounds and varying proficiency levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS.
• Maintain current competence in the discipline.
