Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) invites applications for Adjunct Faculty in English as a Second Language (ESL) in Loudoun. Teaching may be in person, remote, or online, up to 12 credit hours in fall/spring and up to 8 in summer.

There is no guaranteed continued employment, and faculty are paid per credit hour based on rank. Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in TESOL/TESL or equivalent and regional accreditation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in the teaching field (TESOL/TESL, Second Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics, or equivalent).
• Regionally accredited institution required for degree awarding.
• For degrees earned outside the United States, attach a course-by-course international credential evaluation from a NACES member.

Responsibilities

• Teach specific ESL classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to NOVA and VCCS policies and procedures.
• Maintain current competence in the field of ESL.
