Job summary

Timken in Keene, New Hampshire is seeking a tool and tooling support specialist for the 2nd shift to assist engineering with design and maintenance of tooling and related processes.

You will generate PCM’s, create CAD models (Creo/Pro‑E), and manage toolroom work orders while collaborating with engineering to resolve issues and improve efficiency. A strong focus on GD&T, safety and documentation is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data organization.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and procedures.
  • Experience with CAD modeling is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineering with design and maintenance of Manufacturing, Gage, and Assembly tooling.
  • Generate and maintain PCM’s for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Create and maintain CAD models and prints for single components and assemblies.
  • Manage new tooling requests per Access database or Work Instructions.
  • Maintain tooling spreadsheets and supply prints to area leads.
  • Enter and manage toolroom work orders and maintain documentation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Maintain and comply with safety and regulatory requirements.

Purpose & Scope
  • Assist engineering with the design and maintenance of Manufacturing, Gage, and Assembly tooling.
  • Generate and maintain PCM’s for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Create and maintain CAD models and prints for single components as well as complex assemblies.
  • Manage new tooling requests per Access database or Work Instructions.
  • Maintain tooling spreadsheets.
  • Supply tooling prints to area leads and crib attendants.
  • Enter and manage toolroom work orders.
  • PACE member for tooling sub tasks - Teamcenter.
  • Maintain and comply with process documentation.
  • Work closely with Engineering to collaborate on a solution to issues that are assigned.
  • This individual may generate and/or handle regulated (i.e., hazardous/non-hazardous) waste as part of this job. This must be disposed of in accordance with federal/state regulations.
  • The above responsibilities cover the most significant duties performed but do not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned.
  • Maintain necessary records and ensure that documentation procedures are followed.
  • Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to a leader.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Train personnel as required.
  • Shall be capable of performing inspections in accordance with issued work instructions.
  • Keep leader informed of all quality and quantity problems or audits as required.
  • Conduct or assist in problem solving events and meetings.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment as required.
  • Perform and be involved in continuous improvement projects as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed.
  • Skills learned to be determined by the group leader based upon need of the entire group and the need for flexibility.
Educational/Technical/Functional Skills
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Basic gaging knowledge.
  • Good problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T.
  • Understanding and ability to work in Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail along with the ability to multi‑task and coordinate work activities to be efficient and productive is required.
  • Strong ability to follow written and prescribed work instructions/procedures and tasks.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret specifications, acceptance criteria, and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team along with solid training and mentoring skills.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Situational/Spatial awareness along with strict adherence to PPE/safety protocols is required.
  • CAD experience, CREO / PRO‑E preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Access database preferred.
  • Basic Teamcenter knowledge preferred.
