Job summary

The Timken Company in Keene, NH is seeking a Tooling/Engineering support role to assist in design and maintenance of manufacturing tooling, gage, and assembly tooling. You will generate PCM records, create CAD models, and manage toolroom work orders while coordinating with Engineering to resolve issues.

Required are a High School Diploma/GED, basic GD&T knowledge, and CAD experience (CREO/PRO-E preferred). Familiarity with Teamcenter and Access is a plus.

Purpose & Scope

Assist engineering with the design and maintenance of Manufacturing, Gage, and Assembly tooling.

Essential Responsibilities

• Generate and maintain PCM’s for manufacturing and assembly
• Create and maintain CAD models and prints for single components as well as complex assemblies
• Manage new tooling requests per Access database or Work Instructions
• Maintain tooling spread sheets
• Supply tooling prints to area leads and crib attendants
• Enter and manage toolroom work orders
• PACE member for tooling sub tasks - Teamcenter
• Maintain and comply with process documentation.
• Work closely with Engineering to collaborate on a solution to issues that are assigned.
• This individual may generate and/or handle regulated (i.e. hazardous/non-hazardous) waste as part of this job. This must be disposed of in accordance with federal/state regulations.
• The above responsibilities cover the most significant duties performed but does not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned. The inclusion of which would be in conformity with the factor degrees assigned to this job.
• Maintain necessary records and ensure that documentation procedures are followed.
• Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to a leader.
• Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
• Train personnel as required.
• Shall be capable of performing inspections in accordance with issued work instructions.
• Keep leader informed of all quality and quantity problems or audits as required.
• Conduct or assist in problem solving events and meetings.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment as required.
• Perform and be involved in continuous improvement projects as required.
• Perform other related duties as required or directed.
• Skills learned to be determined by the group leader based upon need of the entire group and the need for flexibility.

Educational/Technical/Functional Skills

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Basic gaging knowledge
• Good problem-solving skills
• Strong understanding of GD&T
• Understanding and ability to work in excel
• Strong attention to detail along with the ability to multi-task and coordinate work activities to be efficient and productive is required.
• Strong ability to follow written and prescribed work instructions/procedures and tasks.
• Strong ability to read and interpret specifications, acceptance criteria, and engineering drawings.
• Ability to work independently and in a team along with solid training and mentoring skills.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Situational/Spatial awareness along with strict adherence to PPE/safety protocols is required.
• CAD experience, CREO / PRO-E preferred
• Basic knowledge of Access database preferred
• Basic Teamcenter knowledge preferred
