Job summary

Siemens seeks an Engineering Test Technician for 2nd shift at the Grand Prairie, TX site. You will test and inspect Low Voltage Switchgear and Switchboards, verify readings with meters, and use Siemens software tools to ensure compliance with UL and IEEE standards.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills are required, with the ability to read technical drawings. The role may require weekends and overtime as needed and is based in the United States.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of exposure to electrical components or equivalent knowledge.
• Experience testing and fixing; strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality of high-custom, sophisticated electrical products and perform testing/inspection of Low Voltage Switchgear and Switchboards to applicable standards (UL1558, UL891, IEEE, etc.).
• Use multimeter and electrical theory to verify power readings and circuit design for correct wiring and operation.
• Operate test equipment (Hipot, test cards, hand tools) and software tools for testing/inspection as required (Siemens WinPM, Step 7, MicroWin, WinC Flexible, SAP).
• Conduct inspections/audits of mechanical and electrical assemblies and maintain testing records and reports.

We are looking for an Engineering Test Technician for 2nd shift, which must be flexible to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, to join our team! This position will be based at our Grand Prairie, TX site.

You’ll make a difference by:

• Maintaining quality of high custom and sophisticated products for Electrical Products; testing and inspecting Low Voltage Switchgear and Switchboards to applicable standards (i.e. UL1558, UL891, IEEE, etc)
• Use multi meter and electronic theory to verify power readings and circuit design to ensure accurate wiring and operation.
• Use Hipot, test card, hand tools and various other tools to aid in testing.
• Use specialized software for testing/inspecting when required (i.e. Siemens WinPM, Step 7, MicroWin, WinC Flexible, SAP, etc.)
• Perform inspections/audits of mechanical and electrical assemblies.
• Maintain and input records or reports related to testing/inspecting activities.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2+ years exposure to electrical components or knowledge of electrical components.
• Ability/Experience testing and fixing; strong problem solving.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate Degree.
• 2+ years in capacity of engineering or quality functions for power distribution equipment.
• Knowledge of prevailing codes (UL1558, UL891, UL508).
• Knowledge of power distribution components (breakers, relays, communication devices).
