Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical, mechanical, functional, and visual inspections per work instructions and test procedures.
  • Test and inspect medium-voltage breakers, low-voltage assemblies, panel assemblies, and hi-pot units.
  • Review drawings, diagrams, BOMs to verify product conformance.
  • Operate approved inspection and test equipment safely and correctly.
  • Conduct hi-pot, continuity, insulation resistance, and functional tests per procedures.
  • Document inspection findings, results, defects, and follow-up actions in systems.
  • Identify non-conforming material and escalate concerns to senior staff.
  • Ensure production operations and documentation are complete before release.
  • Adhere to electrical safety, calibrated tools, and 5S practices.
  • Support reinspection, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering to resolve issues.

We are looking for an Electromechanical Quality Control Technician 1 (6:00AM-2:30PM) to join our team in Wendell, NC.

The Electromechanical Quality Control Technician 1 is responsible for performing standardized electrical, mechanical, functional, and visual inspections of medium-voltage breakers, low-voltage breaker assemblies, panel assemblies, and hi-pot units. This role verifies that products meet applicable drawings, specifications, work instructions, safety requirements, and Siemens quality standards before release.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, follows established test procedures, documents results accurately, and works effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You’ll Make an Impact By:
  • Performing electrical, mechanical, functional, and visual inspections using established work instructions and test procedures.
  • Testing and inspecting medium-voltage breakers, low-voltage breaker assemblies, panel assemblies, and hi-pot units.
  • Reviewing drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, bills of material, and production documentation to verify product conformance.
  • Operating approved manual and automated inspection and test equipment safely and correctly.
  • Performing assigned hi-pot, continuity, insulation resistance, and functional tests in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Documenting inspection findings, test results, defects, and required follow-up actions in applicable business systems.
  • Identifying non-conforming material or workmanship and escalating concerns to senior technicians, supervisors, Quality, or Engineering.
  • Verifying required production operations and documentation are complete before product release.
  • Following electrical safety requirements, calibrated-tool requirements, 5S practices, and standard work.
  • Supporting reinspection, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities as assigned.
  • Collaborating with Production, Quality, and Engineering to resolve routine product or process issues.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED; technical education, military training, certification, or relevant work experience is preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, electrical testing, quality inspection, or a related technical environment.
  • Basic ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
  • Experience using hand tools, measuring instruments, inspection equipment, or electrical test equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, accurate documentation skills, and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical coursework or certification in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience testing or inspecting medium-voltage breakers, low-voltage breakers, switchgear, panel assemblies, or industrial electrical equipment.
  • Exposure to hi-pot, continuity, insulation resistance, or functional testing.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and product specifications.
  • Knowledge of electromechanical components and industrial electrical assemblies.
  • Experience using SAP, Office 365, MES, ERP, or a similar business system.
  • Understanding of electrical safety, lockout/tagout, and calibrated test equipment requirements.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, quality control, testing, or industrial maintenance environment.
  • Training or certification in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
