Qualifications

Job description

Position Title: Engineering Test Technician (NYM Facility, On-Site, No Remote)

Reports To: Systems & Compliance Supervisor

Position Overview:

The Engineering Test Technician is responsible for supporting engineering activities in the development, testing, commercialization, and manufacturing of consumer lawn and garden products. The role involves conducting tests and inspections to evaluate product quality and performance, interpreting standards and specifications, executing tests accordingly, troubleshooting, and repairing malfunctions and defects.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and document electrical and mechanical testing of components, systems, and products for product development and evaluations.
  • Develop test plans to ensure products meet performance, quality, and customer standards.
  • Follow test requests and measure performance parameters such as flow rates, pressures, voltage, and current.
  • Record observations, compile technical reports, and analyze data.
  • Set up and monitor cycle testing for longevity assessment.
  • Perform spray and temperature cycle testing to evaluate spray volume and durability.
  • Utilize data acquisition systems and MS Excel for data collection and analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project goals.
  • Procure parts for prototypes and test setups.
  • Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, and equipment.
  • Develop test fixtures and procedures as needed.
  • Manage prototyping equipment and inventory in the 3D print lab.
  • Provide updates on tasks and communicate any obstacles.
  • Adhere to safety and departmental policies.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college.
  • At least 3 years of experience as an Engineering Test Technician or similar role.
  • Strong mechanical skills and aptitude.
  • Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in writing technical reports with data analysis.
  • Competency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Qualifications:

  • Experience with 3D CAD systems such as SolidWorks.
  • Experience with Arduino programming and usage.
