A leading company in the engineering sector seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure the quality of purchased products. This role entails managing supplier quality assurance tasks, developing inspection plans, and supporting new product development. Strong communication skills and a background in engineering technology are essential for success in this role.
Position Description
Ensures purchased product or service meets established quality standards, including reliability, usability, and performance. Assists in advanced Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) functions and analyzes data for problem solving and decision making.
Job Responsibilities
Performs supplier quality assurance assignments and projects; maintains up-to-date Quality Management System documentation; compiles quality reports related to purchased products and vendor performance.
Coordinates less complex vendor and purchased part analysis studies.
Assists in isolating and resolving purchased part issues; supports Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).
Helps develop basic product and process procedures.
Performs basic analysis for problem solving.
Serves as a liaison regarding supplier quality issues with internal customers.
Supports PPAP process and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
Communicates with vendors about NCM, PPAP, and deviations.
Assists with New Product Development (NPD) activities.
Develops quality inspection plans for incoming inspection in collaboration with SQE.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Skills Requirements
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Good time management, prioritization, organizational, and planning skills.
Ability to work independently or in a team with minimal supervision.
Problem-solving ability.
Language Requirement: Fluent in English.
Experience Requirements
Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Business, or equivalent education/experience.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Includes occasional lifting of light materials; rarely handling 25-50 lbs (11-27 kg); suitable working conditions; ability to perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, and reaching over an 8-12 hour shift.
