Axcelis is seeking a Manufacturing Test Development Engineer I in Beverly, MA. This onsite role focuses on designing and validating test systems for semiconductor manufacturing, driving improvements in reliability, throughput, and quality across production lines.
You will work with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to implement robust test strategies, fixtures, and automated equipment, while mentoring interns and contributing to NPI efforts.

In this role, you will lead the design, development, validation, and optimization of electrical and mechanical test solutions used in Axcelis manufacturing operations. You will work independently on complex problems, while collaborating closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to define test strategies, improve coverage, and enhance system performance.
You will drive initiatives that improve product reliability, reduce cycle time, and increase throughput-directly impacting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
This position requires strong technical depth across multiple disciplines, including electronics, mechanical design, automation, instrumentation, and data analysis, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues.
