The NPI Manufacturing Engineer partners with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Test Development teams to ensure new products are manufacturable, cost-effective, and production-ready. This role drives Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Excellence (DFX) initiatives while supporting successful product launches.
Required Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering. 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, Process Engineering, or a related manufacturing environment. Experience supporting products from design through manufacturing release. Working knowledge of DFM, DFA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and manufacturing process development.
Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field. Experience in semiconductor equipment, capital equipment, or complex electromechanical assembly. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to influence design decisions through manufacturing expertise. Experience interpreting engineering drawings and BOMs. Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment. Strong organizational and project management skills.

$79,447.21 - $119,170.81
This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as you develop within the role. Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular employees working 20+ hours a week).
