General Responsibilities:

1. Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
2. Communicate with project team members regarding site conditions, project requirements, and testing results.
3. Transport samples to the laboratory with proper documentation for testing and analysis.
4. Prepare and submit data and observations in reports, both written and digital, for daily review by the Project Manager.
5. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
6. Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites.
7. Adhere to strict safety standards at all times.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Perform testing, observation, and inspection according to training and procedures.
2. Inspect projects requiring expertise across multiple construction inspection areas.
3. Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
4. Test materials to verify compliance with contract specifications.
5. Document findings clearly and accurately.
6. Analyze data for accuracy before submission.
7. Communicate findings to the Project Manager and team.
8. Possess proficiency in multiple testing and inspection areas.
9. Train lower-level technicians.
10. Supervise activities of other technicians when needed.
11. Plan, schedule, and dispatch technicians based on skills and project needs.
12. Coordinate pre-dispatch activities with management.
13. Interact with clients and site personnel as directed.
14. Assist in developing scopes of testing and inspection services.
15. Maintain equipment calibration and operation.
16. Perform advanced fieldwork and support project management.
17. Follow safety protocols and report issues promptly.
18. Ensure quality standards are maintained across projects.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
3. Proficiency with laptops, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
4. ACI certification in at least one area: Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, or Radiation Safety/Nuclear Density Gauge operation.
5. At least two additional certifications from the following: AWS CWI, ASNT Level II, RRO, or other relevant certifications.
6. Successful completion of internal safety certifications.
7. Valid driver's license with acceptable record.

Preferred Certifications:

• NICET Level III or IV in Construction Materials Testing or Geotechnical fields.
• ICC certifications in reinforced concrete, fireproofing, masonry, prestressed concrete, or steel.
• AWS Senior Certified Welding Inspector (SCWI).
• ASNT Level III in NDT areas such as VT, MT, PT, RT, or UT.
