Job summary

NXP Semiconductors NV in Austin, TX is seeking an Engineering Technician to work autonomously and with a team in a 24x7 automated test equipment laboratory. You will interface with product groups, vendors, and lab technicians to coordinate activities and cross-train across software, mechanical handlers, and hardware.

The role focuses on recipe generation, setup validation, data collection, and process improvements, while drafting reports and maintaining procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of experience in a technical, engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, or semiconductor environment is required.
• A 2-year technical degree or certificate from an accredited institution in a technical science field is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to write technical reports and effectively communicate test results.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Experience with network protocol, software licensing, and scripting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Enable product qualification activities for the business lines
• Develop processes & technology for New Product Introductions (NPI)
• Assist engineering teams with technical support (including data system & network activities)
• Design & execute engineering experiments in Final Test and Wafer Test (Probe)
• Draft experimental reports and maintain procedural documentation
• Provide process monitoring and identify opportunities for improvement to equipment or materials
• Create recipes or setups for new products/hardware
• Promote quality and safety
• Operate manufacturing equipment including: automated test equipment, wafer handlers, final test handlers, scopes & lab equipment
